Our beloved teacher, Brian Raven passed away on Monday, April 25. He was one of Homeschool Connections first teachers. Brian was more than a teacher to his students, he was a mentor and friend who always had a smile on his face and was ready to engage in conversation with students, parents, and other teachers. He loved his students and put a tremendous amount of energy into his relationship with them. Every student was dubbed with a nickname, except one whose "name is so unusual you don't need a nickname," and every student remembers that nickname. Many students have shared that they learned so much being in Brian's classes. We are so thankful to have had Brian in our community from the beginning. He is no longer in pain and for that we can be grateful, but we will forever miss him.
is a Christian non-profit organization* that provides educational classes and support to the local homeschool community.
Since 1994, we have grown to 40 teachers, 95 classes, over 200 families, over 450 students, and over 2,000 class slots!
Our elementary through high school classes give homeschooling parents resources to supplement their own curriculum. Parents, not Homeschool Connections nor teachers, are responsible for overseeing their student’s educational program.
Our instructors are independent contractors who determine the course content and tuition for each class. They are here to assist parents and are qualified to help parents evaluate their student’s progress.
We recognize that homeschool parents are the authority over their children’s education and encourage them to attend classes with their students, with one parent expected to remain on site at all times. As part of the community, each family is responsible for performing a job to ensure that Homeschool Connections runs smoothly.
The Homeschool Connections’ volunteer Board of Directors adheres to the Statement of Faith and Statement of Beliefs.
Welcome to our community. We look forward to meeting you!
