Description: This class is designed as a continuation of "Shurley Grammar 1." We will review and elaborate on the previous year's topics and then move to more advanced concepts including: direct and indirect objects, verb transitives, linking verbs, degrees of adjectives and adverbs, verb tenses, and sentence structures. We will not use the writing portion of the curriculum. As a cost savings we will continue using the Level 5 book, with weekly handouts to supplement. Students from the Level 1 class will be well prepared for this class, as will others that have had a solid introduction to grammar. However, new students to Shurley Grammar will need to spend an extended amount of time to learn the techniques. There is homework every week including journaling, vocabulary and exercises. Expect to spend between 1 to 3 hours on homework per week.
