Description: Travel all over the world as you read classical literature.  Delve into mysteries, memoirs, diaries, historical fiction and realistic fiction.  Study the history and geography surrounding each novel you read.  Learn to use different forms of writing, such as personal, subject, creative, persuasive and academic writing, as you respond to literature.  Possible titles for the year are Around the World in 80 Days, The Good Earth, The Lemon Tree, The Chosen, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, Barrio Boy, A House for Mr. Biswas, Things Fall Apart, The Odyssey, and Sherlock Holmes and Father Brown Mysteries.  Approximately 3- 4 hours of homework a week.
