Description: This writing skills class will introduce the student to writing keyword outlines, then transforming that outline into the writing of a paragraph. Style elements that make the writing more varied and interesting will be modeled and taught. Writing materials from the Excellence in Writing program by Andrew Pudewa will be provided and used, as well as materials from Great Source. Basic punctuation, grammar, and proofreading practice included. A three-paragraph report will be an assignment during the second semester, as well as writing new stories from old fables. Parent involvement greatly increases student success. Weekly homework assigned, 1-2 hours, with the goal of keeping writing fun! It works!
