Text: Risas y Sonrisas by Spanish for Kids. This is a hardbound book which includes a CD-Rom and a Skit-CD to use at home for emphasis. Student will be able to use this same material for Spanish 2 if he/she desires to continue with Spanish next year. Facilitator will contact parents over the summer to place a bulk order. Textbook is approximately $45 plus S&H.

Description: Ven con nosotros (come with us) as we learn the second most spoken language in the United States! This class will develop basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills in Spanish along with studying the cultures of Spanish-speaking people. Using conventional and total physical response techniques, students will learn through games, role-playing, singing, and constant review. Student participation to develop conversational skills will be emphasized. Homework: approximately 1 hour per week.
