Description: I am purposing that this class should be considered “enrichment.”  While the philosophy of western warfare will be expounded upon, there will be a great many activities, which will consume a great deal of the time.  This of course does not mean that the boys enrolling will find it unnecessary to generate a coherent thought or read one.  Rather the coherent thoughts will be sprinkled with a good bash to the head by myself or a classmate.  Thus, we will observe ancient and medieval weapons, their usage and evolution.  We will observe the tactics and strategies of the great generals while listening to their biographies.  We will reenact great battles using miniatures or ourselves.  We will construct weapons and use them on one another or a suitable target.  “ ‘My sword I give to him that shall succeed me in my pilgrimage and my courage and skill to him that can get it.  My works and scars I carry with me, to be a witness for me that I have fought His battles who now will be my rewarder.’  So he passed over and all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side.”  Pilgrims Progress
